مَرْبَأٌ

Full Definition

مَرْبَأٌ and مَرْبَأَةٌ and مُرْتَبَأٌ and An elevated place of observation, or upon which a person is stationed to watch; the place of the رَبِيْئَة [or scout].
2 And hence, the first of these words, or ↓ the second, The مَنَارَة [or perch], or place, of the hawk, or falcon, upon which he stands, or upon which he mounts. A rájiz suppresses the ء, saying, بَاتَ عَلَى مُقَيَّدَا [He passed the night upon his perch, shackled].
