Full Definition

مَسَخَهُI , Present.T ـَ Verbal.Noun مَسْخٌ, He transformed him, or metamorphosed him, into a worse, or more foul, or more ugly, shape. Ex. مَسَخَهُ ٱللّٰهُ قِرْدًا God transformed him into an ape. [See Kur, xxxvi. 67.]
2 مَسَخَ شِعْرًا He took and transformed poetry; accord. to the most common usage, by the substitution of what is synonymous with the original, wholly or partly; but sometimes by altering the meanings. See 1 in art. سلخ.
3 مَسَخَ الكَاتِبُ The writer corrupted what he wrote by changing the diacritical points and altering the meaning.
4 مَسَخَ النَّاقَةَ, Present.T ـَ Verbal.Noun مَسْخٌ, He rendered the she-camel lean, and wounded her back, by fatigue and use: as also مَسَحَ.
5 مَسُخَ, [Present.T ـُ] Verbal.Noun مَسَاخَةٌ It was, or became, tasteless, or insipid: it had no salt nor colour nor taste: and, sometimes, it was between sweet and bitter.
6 مَسَخَ طَعْمَهُ It caused its taste to depart; took away its taste.
