مَسْطَحٌ

Full Definition

مَسْطَحٌ , or مِسْطَحٌ , or both, the former because it means a place, A place that is even, or level, in which, or upon which, dates are spread and dried; i. q. جَرِينٌ; of the dial. of El-Yemen: [pl. مَسَاطِحُ.]
2 رَأَيْتُ الأَرْضَ مَسَاطِحَ means I saw the land [bare, or] destitute of pasturage; likened to بُيُوت مَسْطُوحَة [i. e. flat-topped houses].
