مَصُوصٌ A certain kind of food, of flesh-meat, cooked, and steeped in vinegar; or, as some say, steeped in vinegar, and then cooked: or of the flesh of birds particularly: pronounced by the vulgar with damm to the م: but what is said in the Nh implies that it is with damm; for it is there said, “ and it may be with fet-h to the م. ”
