Full Definition
مَفْرَقٌ
and مَفْرِقٌ The middle of the head; the place where the hair of the head is separated: pl. مَفَارِقُ; which is used also in the sense of the sing., as though the sing. applied to every part thereof: one says, شَابَتْ مَفَارِقُ رَأْسِهِ [meaning The place of the separation of the hair of his head became white, or hoary]. (Mgh voce ذَكَرٌ.) [See also فَرْقٌ.]
2 Also The place, of a road, where another road branches off: both words are used in this sense likewise: pl. as above.
3 And [hence] one says, وَقَفْتُهُ عَلَى مَفَارِقِ الحَدِيثِ [I made him to know] the modes, or manners, [of the narrative, or discourse,] or the manifest, plain, or obvious, modes or manners [thereof].
