مَقِرَI , Present.T ـَ Verbal.Noun مَقَرٌ, It was, or became, bitter; as also , Verbal.Noun إِمْقَارٌ: or sour, or acid: and , said of milk, it became almost bitter, by reason of its quality of biting the tongue: or lost its [proper] flavour by becoming intensely sour or acid.

def.2 مَقَرَ عُنُقَهَ, Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun مَقْرٌ, He bruised his neck: or beat it with a staff or stick, so as to break the bone in pieces, leaving the skin whole.
2 And hence, مَقَرَ السَّمَكَةَ المَالِحَةَ He macerated the salt fish in vinegar; as also . And in like manner you say of anything that you macerate.
