مِقَصٌّ A مِقْرَاض [or single blade of scissors or shears], with which one cuts, or clips, or shears; one of the things whereof a pair is called مِقَصَّانِ: or مِقَصَّانِ signifies the thing with which one cuts hair [&c.]; and has no sing., accord. to the lexicologists, though Sb assigns to it a sing.: some say, that the use of the sing. is a mistake of the vulgar: the pl. is مَقَاصُّ.
