مَكَانٌ , and مَحَلٌّ مَأْنُوسٌ, [A place, and] a place of alighting or abode, in which is أُنْس [i. e. sociableness, &c.]: مأنوس is a kind of possessive noun, because they did not say أَنَسْتُ المَكَانَ, nor أَنِسْتُهُ.
