Full Definition

نَبَشَI , Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun نَبْشٌ, He took, drew, or pulled, out, or forth, a thing, [as] a leguminous plant, or a thing buried, or a thing after burial, [as] a corpse; whence نَبَّاشٌ, q. v.: he made a thing that was concealed or covered to come out or forth, or to become apparent.
2 [Hence,] هُوَ يَنْبُشُ لِعِيَالِهِ, inf, n. as above, He draws forth sustenance hence and thence for his family, or household: or he gains, or earns, or seeks sustenance, for them.
3 And هُوَ يَنْبُشُ الأَسْرَارَ, and الحَدِيثَ, Verbal.Noun as above, He draws forth, or elicits, secrets, and discourse, narration, or information: or نَبَشْتُ السِّرَّ signifies I divulged the secret.
4 And إِنْتَبَشَ العُرُوقَ He drew forth, or extracted, the veins.
5 Also, He removed, a thing from over another thing which it covered or concealed; and earth from a thing beneath it: whence نَبَّاشٌ, q. v.
6 And hence, نَبَشَ القَبْرَ [He uncovered, or he rifled, or ransacked, the grave].
