Full Definition

وَبْشٌ and وَبَشٌ sings. of أَوْبَاشٌ which signifies A medley, or mixed multitude; and the lowest or basest or meanest sort, or refuse, or riffraff; of men, or people; or of troops, or soldiers; like أَوْشَابٌ; [and similar to أَشْوَابٌ, but more particular;] and said to be a pl., formed by transposition, of بَوْشٌ [q. v.]: or sundry, or separate, sorts, of men, or people: and of trees and plants: or a small number, and those separate, of trees and plants.
2 [Hence, app.,] وَبْشُ الكَلَامِ What is bad of speech, or language.
