Full Definition

وَسَمَI [He marked, or put a mark on, the garment, &c.]; said of a trader, or dealer. (JK in art. رقم.)
2 وَسَمَهُ بِالهِجَآءِ [He branded him, or stigmatized him, with satire]. See a hemistich cited voce شَكِىٌّ.
3 وَسَمَهُ He marked it [in any manner].
4 وَسَمَهُ بِالقَوْلِ He stigmatized him, or set a mark upon him whereby he should be known, by something said. (TA in art. علظ.)
5 وَسَمْتُ الكِتَابَ [I put a superscription, or title, to the book, or writing.] (TA in art. عنو.)
6 وَسُمَ, Verbal.Noun وَسَامَةٌ and وَسَامٌ, He was beautiful in face: or bore the impress, or stamp, of beauty.
