Full Definition
2 وَطَدَ, Present.T يَطِدُ, Verbal.Noun وَطْدٌ and طِدَةٌ; and وطّد , Verbal.Noun تَوْطِيدٌ; He, or it, pressed upon a thing heavily; syn. ثَقَّلَ.
3 وَطَدَهُ إِلَيْهِ He drew and pressed him to him; hugged him.
4 وَطَدَ, Verbal.Noun وَطْدٌ, He pressed a thing to another thing, and made it fast.
5 وَطَدَهُ إِلَى الأَرْضِ He pressed him to the ground [with his hand, or hands, or foot, or feet,] and kept him fixed upon it, preventing his moving: he trod upon him vehemently: occurring in a trad.
6 وَطَدَ لَهُ مَنْزِلَةً
7 وَطَدَ الأَرْضَ He closed up, and trod, the ground, in order that it might become hard.
