وَفَادَةٌ , subst. from وَفَدَ عَلَيْهِ, A coming to a king, or governor, [or the like,] as an ambassador, envoy, or messenger, [&c.: see 1].
2 لَهُ وِفَادَةٌ [a phrase of frequent occurrence in notices of companions of Mohammad, meaning, He had the honour of coming as an envoy to the Prophet].
