Full Definition

وَكَسَI , Present.T يَكِسُ, Verbal.Noun وَكْسٌ, It was, or became, defective, or deficient; it fell short; it diminished, or decreased. It is said in a trad., of Ibn-Mes'ood, لَهَا مَهْرُ مِثْلِهَا لَا وَكْس وَلَا شَطَطَ She shall have the dowry of her like: there shall be no falling short nor exceeding: or there shall be no diminishing nor exceeding of the limit. [For] وَكَسَهُ, Present.T and Verbal.Noun as above, signifies He rendered it defective, or deficient; diminished it, or decreased it; as also وكّسهُ , Verbal.Noun تَوْكِيسٌ.
2 He made him to suffer loss; syn. نَقَصَهُ; (S, TA; as also وكّسهُ Verbal.Noun تَوْكِيسٌ: or he cheated, or defrauded him. You say, وُكِسَ فِى تِجَارَتِهِ, Verbal.Noun وَكْسٌ, He suffered loss, or diminution of the price, [in his traffic, or merchandise; as also , Verbal.Noun إِيكَاسٌ; and so وَكَسَ, Present.T and Verbal.Noun as above.
