Full Definition

مَاحَI , Present.T يَمِيحُ, Verbal.Noun مَيْحٌ; and ; (A, [and the same seems to be indicated in the S, where it is said that إِمْتِيَاحٌ signifies the same as مَيْحٌ;]) He descended into, or entered, the well, and filled the bucket: this is done when its water is little.
2 مَاحَ المَآءَ, Present.T يَمِيحُ; and امتاحهُ ; He drew water by descending into the well and filling the bucket.
3 مَاحَ فِى مِشْيَتِهِ, Verbal.Noun مَيْحٌ and مَيْحُوحَةٌ; and ميّح , and تمايح ; He walked in a certain elegant manner, with a self-conceited gait, and with an affected inclining of his body from side to side, like as a duck walks.
4 مَرَّ He passed along so walking, and looking at his shadow.
5 Also تميّح He inclined his body from side to side in walking: and تمايح he, or it, inclined from side to side; as also ميّح and تميّح : which last is also said of a branch, or twig. (M, L, art. رأد.)
6 السَّكْرَانُ , and , [The drunken man reels, or inclines from side to side in walking].
7 مَاحَتِ الرِّيحُ الشَّجَرَةَ The wind made the tree to incline.
