أَجَدُّ

Root: جد

Full Definition

أَجَدُّ [Having some part, or parts, cut, or cut off: fem. جَدَّآءُ].
2 [Hence,] جَدَّآءُ A ewe, or she-goat, or she-camel, having her ear cut off.
3 A ewe, or she-goat, having her teats cut off; as also [q. v.], applied to a she-camel: or having her udder cut off.
4 [And hence,] A milch animal whose milk has passed away, by reason of some fault, or imperfection: see also جَدُودٌ: or a ewe, or she-camel, or she-ass, having little milk; having a dry udder: or having dry teats, being hurt by the صِرَار [q. v.]: and أَجَدُّ a breast that has become dry.
5 A woman small in the breast: or having short breasts.
6 A desert, (فَلَاة, S, K,) or land, (أَرْض, A,) in which is no water: a desert (مَفَازَة) that is dry.
7 عَامٌ أَجَدُّ and سَنَةٌ جَدَّآءُ A year of drought, and of dryness o the earth.

def.3 أَجَدُّ also signifies More [and most] easy to walk or ride upon, and more [and most] plain or level; applied to a road.
