Full Definition

أَعْدَدْتُهُIV , Verbal.Noun إِعْدَادٌ, with which and and [as Verbal.Noun of 2] are syn., I made it ready, prepared it, or provided it. One says, اعدّهُ لِأَمْرِ كَذَا He made it ready, prepared it, or provided it, for such an affair. And أَعْدَدْتُ لِلْأَمْرِ عُدَّتَهُ [I made ready, prepared, or provided, for the affair, its proper apparatus]. Some say that أَعَدَّ is originally أَعْتَدَ; but others deny this. (L in art. عتد.)
