اختلجVIII , as a trans. v.: see 1, in three places.

def.2 Also It was, or became, in a state of commotion, or agitation; it quivered, quaked, or throbbed; and so تخلّج [and خَلَجَ , as will be seen from what follows]. You say اختلج حَاجِبَاهُ His eyebrows quivered, or were in a state of commotion. And اختلجت عَيْنُهُ; and تخلّجت ; and , Present.T ـِ and ـُ Verbal.Noun خُلُوجٌ and خَلَجَانٌ; His eye quivered, throbbed, or was in a state of commotion; i. q. طَارَتْ, i. e., throbbed. And اختلج العُضْوُ The member quivered, &c.
2 He trembled, quivered, or quaked. And اختلج بِوَجْهِهِ He moved about his lips and his chin, mocking and imitating a person talking.
