أَرَمَهُI , Present.T ـِ Verbal.Noun أَرْمٌ, He took away, or removed, its أَرُومَةٌ, or أَصْل: [he extirpated it; eradicated it:] he ate it. You say, أَرَمَتِ السَّائِمَةُ المَرْعَي, Present.T as above, The pasturing beasts consumed, or made an end of, the pasturage, not leaving of it anything. And أَرَمَ مَا عَلَى الخِوَانِ, or المَائِدَةِ, Present.T as above, He ate what was on the table, not leaving anything. And أَرَمَتْهُمُ السَّنَةُ, Present.T ـُ Verbal.Noun as above, The year of dearth, or drought, or sterility, extirpated them; or devoured them; or cut them off. And أَرَمَتِ السَّنَةُ بِأَمْوَالِنَا The year of dearth, or drought, or sterility, devoured everything [of our property or cattle]. And أَرَمَتِ الأَرْضُ المَيِّتَ The earth consumed the dead body.
