Full Definition

استرشحX The [barley-grass termed] بُهْمَى grew tall.

def.2 يَسْتَرْشِحُونَ البُهْمَى, so in most of the copies of the K, [and so in the L,] They foster the بهمى, in order that it may grow large: in some of the copies of the K البَهْمَ [i. e. the lambs, or kids, &c.]: the place thereof is termed مُسْتَرْشَحٌ : or البُهُمَى signifies the place, or tract of ground, that fosters the بهمى. And يسترشحون البَقْلَ, so in all the copies of the K but some in which is found النَّفَلَ, They wait for the herbs, or leguminous plants, (or the plants called نفل,) to grow tall, in order that-they may pasture thereon.
