اصطرفVIII He sought, sought after, or sought to gain, sustenance or the like, and used art or artifice or cunning [in so doing]; for his family, or household; as also , Present.T ـِ; you say, صَرَفَ لِأَهْلِهِ [as though meaning صَرَفَ نَفْسَهُ لِأَهْلِهِ] and اصطرف: or he used art or artifice or cunning (تصرّف) in the seeking of gain: or [meaning thus] you say, اصطرف فِى طَلَبِ الكَسْبِ.
