اِعْلَنْبَى
Q. Q. 3 Verbal.Noun اِعْلِنْبَآءٌ, He raised himself; or drew, or stretched, himself up; like as is done on the occasion of altercation, and of reviling.
2 And hence, it is said also of a cock, and of a dog, and other than these,. as a cat, meaning He prepared himself for evil, or mischief, and fighting: [or ruffled his feathers,] or bristled up his hair: it is from the عِلْبَآء of the neck, and quasi-coordinate to اِفْعَنْلَلَ, with ى [for the final ل]: and sometimes it is with ء [in the place of the ى].
3 And one says also, اِعْلَنْبَأَ بِالحِمْلِ He rose, or raised himself, with the burden.
