Full Definition

الأَسْدَرَانِ The shoulder-joints, and the sides: or two veins in the eye, or in the two eyes: or beneath the temples. Hence the saying جَآءَ يَضْرِبُ أَسْدَرَيْهِ He came beating his shoulder-joints and his sides; meaning, he came empty, having nothing in his hand, or having no occupation, and without having accomplished the object of his desire: and in like manner, أَصْدَرَيْهِ: and جَآءَ يَنْفُضُ أَسْدَرَيْهِ, and أَصْدَرَيْهِ, and أَزْدَرَيْهِ, he came shaking his shoulder-joints: or his sides: meaning as above.
