Full Definition

السَّبَّابَةُ , an epithet in which the quality of a subst. is predominant, [The index, or fore finger;] the finger that is next to the thumb and middle-finger; between these two; as also السِّبَّةُ : so called because one [often] points with it in reviling: called by persons praying المُسَبِّحَةُ and السَّبَّاحَةُ [because it is raised in asserting the unity of God].
