بَاذِخٌ

Full Definition

بَاذِخٌ High, or lofty; applied to a mountain: [and] a high, or lofty, mountain; an epithet in which the quality of a subst. is predominant: pl. بَوَاذِخُ and بَاذِخَاتٌ [both fem. forms]: and the former pl. applied as an epithet to mountains.
2 [Hence,] رَجُلٌ بَاذِخٌ, and بَذَّاخٌ , [the latter an intensive epithet,] A proud, and lofty, or haughty, man, who exalts himself above others, by his speech, and his glorying, or boasting: pl. of the former بُذَخَآءُ, like as عُلَمَآءُ is pl. of عَالِمٌ, and بُذَّخٌ. You say, In speech, he is بَذَّاخٌ ; and in poetry, بَاذِخٌ.
3 And شَرَفٌ بَاذِخٌ High, or exalted, nobility.
4 بَعِيرٌ بَاذِخٌ, and بَذَّاخٌ , or الهَدِيرِ, and بِذْخٌ , and بَذِخٌ , A camel that brays much, or in the most vehement manner, and puts forth his شِقْشِقَة [or faucial bag].
