بَخِيلٌ and بَاخِلٌ Niggardly, tenacious, stingy, penurious, or avaricious; i. e. ذُو بُخْلٍ; epithets from 1: or one from whom niggardliness is experienced much or often: and so بَخَلٌ , in Verbal.Noun used as an epithet [and therefore implying more than the possession of the simple attribute of niggardliness &c., being a kind of personification]; and بَخَّالٌ and بَخَالٌ and مُبَخَّلٌ i. e. شَدِيدُ البُخْلِ [very, or vehemently, niggardly &c.]: pl. of the first, بُخَلَآءُ; and of the second, بُخَّلٌ and بُخَّالٌ.
