Full Definition

بَدَّI , Present.T بَدُدَ Verbal.Noun بَدٌّ: see 2.
2 بَدَّ رِجْلَيْهِ He parted his legs, or straddled, in the stocks, or otherwise.
3 بَدَّهُ, Present.T and Verbal.Noun as above, He removed with it, withdrew with it, drew away with it, [or drew it away, from its place,] namely, a thing.
4 He made him to retire, or withdraw, far away; and to refrain, forbear, or abstain; عَنِ الشَّىْءِ from the thing.
5 أَنَا أَبُدُّ بِكَ عَنْ ذٰلِكَ الأَمْرِ I will defend thee from that thing, or event, by repelling it, or averting it, from thee.
6 بُدَّ عَنْ دَبَرِ الدَّابَّةِ It was cut, or slit, so as to be clear of the galls, or sores, on the back of the beast.

def.2 بَدَّ, second pers. بَدِدْتَ, Present.T يَبَدُّ, Verbal.Noun بَدَدٌ, He was, or became, wide between the thighs, by reason of abundance of flesh: or wide between the arms; having the arms far from the sides: or wide between the shoulder-joints: or large in make, having one part far from another.
2 Also He had his fore legs far apart: or he had his fore legs far from his sides: and he had his elbows far from his sides.
