بِصُمَاتِهِ

Root: صمت

Full Definition

بِصُمَاتِهِ , (AZ, K, A, K, [in a copy of the M بصِمَاتِه, but this I think a mistranscription,]) or , (K accord. to the TA, and so in the M in art. سكت,) [both probably correct, for] one says also بِسُكَاتِهِ and بِسُكَاتَةٍ, (S, M, A, K, in art. سكت,) He smote him, or afflicted him, with a thing that silenced him. [See رَمَاهُ بِسُكَاتٍ, in art. سكت.]
2 صُمَاتٌ signifies also Thirst: or quickness of thirsting, in men and in beasts.
