بَقْعَةٌ A place in which water remains and stagnates; [and which is not a usual place of watering: (see بَاقِعَةٌ:) this is what is meant, app., by its being said that] بِقَاعٌ, which is its pl., signifies the contr. of مَشَارِعُ [or watering-places to which men and beasts are accustomed to come].
