بَلِيغٌ
i. q.
فَصِيحٌ [properly signifying Chaste in speech, but here meaning eloquent]; sharp, or penetrating, or effective, in tongue; one who attains, by his speech, or diction, the utmost scope of his mind and desire; [possessing the faculty of
بَلَاغَة; (see بَلُغَ;)] as also
بَلْغٌ , and

بَلْغٌ signifies a man who does not commit mistakes often in his speech: the pl. of بَلِيغٌ is بُلَغَآءُ. Applied to a saying, [&c.,] it also signifies Effectual, or producing an effect.
