تَشَعَّثَV see 1, in six places.

def.2 تَشَعُّثٌ also signifies The act of taking; syn. أَخْذٌ; and so تَشْعِيثٌ . One says, تشعّثهُ الدَّهْرُ Time, or fortune, took him. And تشعّث مَالَهُ He took his property.
2 And The eating little of food; and so : whence one says, شَعَّثْتُ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ I ate little of the food.
