تَفْتِيكٌ [app. from the Pers. تَفْتِيك signifying “ fine, soft, wool, ” and “ soft, downy, kids' hair, ”] A compress of rags which is put upon a wound in order that the moisture may become absorbed [thereby]: a subst. like تَمْتِينٌ and تَنْبِيتٌ: and post-classical.
