Full Definition

تَوَّاقٌ i. q. شَوَّاقٌ [app. Yearning, longing, or desiring, much, or vehemently; or very desirous: but some regard it as a simple epithet, syn. with تَائِقٌ ; for it is said that] نَفْسٌ تَوَّاقَةٌ signifies the same as [A yearning, longing, desiring, or desirous, soul]. It is said in a prov., المَرْءُ تَوَّاقٌ إِلَى مَا لَمْ يَنَلْ [Man is desirous, or very desious, of that which he has not attained].
2 One whose soul yearns towards, longs for, or desires, every low, or base, action.
