ثَقِيفٌ : see ثَقْفٌ, in three places.
2 Also Very acid; applied to vinegar; and so ثِقِّيفٌ , like حِرِّيفٌ applied to the onion. And أَبُو ثَقِيفٍ Vinegar [itself]; so named because it makes food acid.
3 Also, and مَثْقُوفٌ , A thing skilled in.
4 And both these words, A man thrust or pierced [with a spear or the like].
