Full Definition

جَاسُوسٌ A spy, who searches for, and brings, information, news, or tidings: or one who is acquainted with private affairs of an evil nature: as also جَسِيسٌ [and جَسَّاسٌ :] and نَامُوسٌ signifies one who is acquainted with private affairs of a good nature: pl. جَوَاسِيسُ.
