جِرْيَالٌ
A certain red dye.
2 The redness of gold.
3 Pure; applied to red and other colours.
4 Also, and جِرْيَالَةٌ , Wine; inferior in goodness to such as is termed سُلَافٌ: or the colour of wine. The phrase سَلَبْتُهَا جِرْيَالَهَا, used by El-Aashà, [lit. I deprived it, namely, wine, of its colour,] means I drank it red, and discharged it in urine white.
