def.2 Also, written by El-Muhellebee جَلَآءٌ , and جَلًا , which is more correct than the first, or it is allowable, as also جِلًا , the former of the last two mentioned on the authority of En-Nahhás, Collyrium: or a particular kind thereof, that clears the sight; [i. e.] i. q. إِثْمِدٌ [antimony, or an ore of antimony]; so called because it clears the sight.
