جَهِيرٌ

Full Definition

جَهِيرٌ (in the TA, here, جَهِرٌ , but in another place, جَهِيرٌ,) High, loud, or vehement, speech; as also مُجْهَرٌ and جَهْوَرِىٌّ : and so applied to the voice; as also جَهْوَرِىٌّ . Also, and مُجْهَرٌ and جَهْوَرِىٌّ and جَهْوَرٌ and جَهِيرُ الصَّوْتِ and الصَّوْتِ, A man having a high, loud, or strong voice.
2 A man of pleasing, or goodly, aspect; as also جَهِرٌ : fem. of the former with ة: beautiful: of goodly aspect, who pleases the beholder by his beauty: and a face of goodly, or beautiful, fairness: and أَجْهَرُ a man of goodly aspect, and of goodly and perfect body.
3 Also, or جَهِيرٌ لِلْخَيْرِ and لِلْمَعْرُوفِ, Adapted to, or constituted for, goodness: because he who beholds him desires his beneficence: pl. جُهَرَآءُ.
