جَوْشٌ

Full Definition

جَوْشٌ The breast; as also جُؤْشُوشٌ and جَوْشٌ: and [particularly] that of a man; as also جُوشٌ : and the middle of a man.
2 Also The fore part (صَدْر) of the night; like جَرْشٌ; and so جُوشٌ : or the middle thereof; as also جَوْزٌ: and a great portion thereof: or of the latter part thereof: or a portion of the latter part thereof: or from the time of a quarter to a third thereof. You say, مَضَى جَوْشٌ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ [A portion of the fore part, &c., of the night passed].
