جَاعَI , Present.T يَجُوعُ, Verbal.Noun جَوْعٌ, or جُوعٌ, or this is a simple subst., and مَجَاعَةٌ, He was, or became, hungry; or empty in the belly; contr. of شَبِعَ. [See also جُوعٌ below.]
2 [Hence,] جَاعَ إِلَيْهِ, or جَاعَ إِلَى لِقَائِهِ, He desired, and longed, [as though hungering,] to meet with him; like عَطِشَ. And جَاعَ إِلَى مَالِهِ He longed for his property.
