جَوَلَانُ

Full Definition

جَوَلَانُ The first, or beginning, [lit. the revolving, ] of anxieties. (Ibn-'Abbád, K, TA. [In the CK, erroneously, جَوْلانُ.]) You say, فِى قَلْبِهِ جَوَلَانُ الهُمُومِ In his heart are revolving anxieties.

def.2 جَوَلَانُ المَالِ The small, or young, and bad, of cattle: so in the M and O; but in a copy of the M, written جَوْلان; which is app. a mistake. Accord. to Ibn-'Abbád, The choice, or best, of cattle: the contr. of what is said by Fr. (TA. [See also جَوْلٌ.])
