حِزْبَآءٌ , or حِزْبٌ and حِزْبَآءَةٌ, Rugged ground: or very rugged ground: or the first signifies hard, elevated ground: and the last, a most rugged tract of [high ground such as is termed] قُفّ, slightly elevated, in another hard قُفّ; or a rugged, elevated place: the first is a pl.; [or rather a coll. gen. n., of which the last is the n. un.; i. e.,] the last is a more special term than the first; and the pl. is حَزَابٍ, (S, in copies of the K حَزَابِى,) like صَحَارٍ, originally حَزَابِىٌّ; and also explained as signifying extended, rugged, narrow places.
