حَطْمَةٌ

Full Definition

حَطْمَةٌ The crowding, thronging, or pressing, of men; and their pushing one another.
2 The tide (دُفْعَة) of a torrent; like طَحْمَةٌ.
3 The havoc of a lion among cattle.
4 Dearth, drought, or sterility; or a year of dearth, &c.; because it breaks (تَحْطِمُ) everything; as also حُطْمَةٌ and حَاطُومٌ : or this last is not used except as meaning continual dearth &c. [See also the last of these words below.]
