حَمَادِ Praise, and thanks, be to him: i. e., to such a one: contr. of جَمَادِ لَهُ [q. v.]. (S and A in art. جمد.) حَمَادِ is indecl., with kesr for its termination, because it deviates from its original, which is the Verbal.Noun [ ]: [i. e.,] it is [a quasi-Verbal.Noun, (see اِسْمُ مَصْدَرٍ in art. صدر,) being] a proper name for المَحْمَدَةُ [as syn. with الحَمْدُ].
