خَابِئَةٌ

Full Definition

خَابِئَةٌ , as sometimes pronounced, or خَابِيَةٌ, with the ء suppressed, because of frequent usage, i. q. حُبٌّ [q. v.]; i. e. A large jar: pl. خوابى [i. e. خَوَابِئُ, or خَوَابٍ]: from خَبَأَهُ “ he hid it, ” or “ concealed it. ”
2 [Hence,] بِنْتُ الخَابِيَةِ Wine.
