Full Definition

خَالَعَتْIII , or تَخْلِيعٌ, Verbal.Noun مُخَالَعَةٌ, She incited, urged, or induced, her husband to divorce her for a gift, or a compensation, (بِبَذْلٍ, or بِبَدَلٍ, accord. to different copies of the S,) from her to him: or she ransomed herself from him, and he divorced her for the ransom.
2 خالع ٱمْرَأَتَهُ: see 1.
3 خالعهُ He contended with him in a game of hazard: because he who does so takes away the property of his companion.
