خَشُنَI , aor ـُ Verbal.Noun خُشُونَةٌ and خُشْنَةٌ and خَشَانَةٌ and خَشْنٌ and مَخْشَنَةٌ, It was, or became, rough, harsh, or coarse; contr. of لَانَ, or of نَعُمَ; as also تخشّن .
2 [Hence,] هُوَ ذُو خَشْنَةٍ and خُشُونَةٍ and مَخْشَنَةٍ He is difficult, refractory, or stubborn; not to be coped with. (K, TA. [See also خَشِنٌ.]) And خَشُنَ عَلَيْهِ صَدْرِهِ and اخشوشن عليه صدره He was, or became, angry with him. See also 3.
