خَشِىٌّ Dry; like حَشِىٌّ; applied to herbage; or to herbs and trees: or dry and rotten. A rájiz says, namely, Sakhr, سَمُّ ذَرَارِيحَ رِطَابٍ وَخَشِىْ [Poison of moist cantharides, and dry]; meaning وَخَشِىٍّ, suppressing one of the two ىs by poetic license.
