, Verbal.Noun خَصْلٌ, He cut, or cut off, a thing; as also قَصَلَ. [Accord. to the TA, this is the proper, or primary signification.]
2 خَصَلَهُمْ, [Present.T, accord. to rule, ـُ] Verbal.Noun خَصْلٌ and خِصَالٌ, He overcame them, or surpassed them, in shooting. (S, K. [In the CK, فَضَلَهُمْ is erroneously put for نَضلَهُمْ.]) See also 3.
