خَطِلَتِI , Present.T ـَ Verbal.Noun خَطَلٌ, The ear was, or became, flaccid, flabby, or pendulous. [In like manner, also,] خَطَلٌ in flesh signifies The being flaccid, flabby, or pendulous. And in a man, and a horse or a bow, (فَرَس or قَوْس, accord. to different copies of the K, the former being the reading in the TA,) and a spear, and the like, The being tall, or long, and shaky, or quivering.
2 خَطَلٌ, as an Verbal.Noun [of خَطِلَ], also signifies The being unsteady, or restless.
3 And خَطِلَ, Present.T ـَ Verbal.Noun خَطَلٌ, He was, or became, light, and quick.
4 And خَطِلَ, or خَطِلَ فِى كَلَامِهِ, Present.T ـَ Verbal.Noun خَطَلٌ, He was foul, and obscene, in his speech; as also , or اخطل فى كلامه: or he was corrupt in his speech, and loquacious: or خَطِلَ, Present.T and Verbal.Noun as above, he erred, or was wrong, in his speech; as also ; and in his opinion, or judgment.
